March 20, 2018 – Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup
March 23, 2018 – WaterWise – Huggins Elementary from 8 am to 9 am. Jennifer Welch from Fort Bend Subsidence will demonstrate water conservation to 4th graders. Each student will receive the kit to take home and use. These kits have the usual aids regarding less water out of a faucet, finding leaks, etc. Sponsored by MUD 81.
March 28, 2018 – Simply Recycling – KWLB in conjunction with the Weston Lakes POA has contracted with Simply Recycling to begin home recycling pickups starting Wednesday, March 28th. This is a FREE service! Qualified recycling materials include: clothing, shoes, small appliances, bedding, toys, towels, kitchenware, etc. You will receive a Simply Recycling flyer in the mail and then they will drop off ORANGE recycling material bags to your front door. On any Wednesday, place your bag out at your curbside and they will pick it up. Bonus…Simply Recycling will give money back to our community for Keep Weston Lakes Beautiful projects!
March 30, 2018 – Easter Festival – KWLB will have a booth again this year in the courtyard from 10:30 am to 1 pm! Coloring contest for the kids with prizes and egg decorating. We will also have Boots & Bling tickets and “A Taste of Goodness” cookbooks for sale.
April 7, 2018 – Don’t Mess with Texas Trash Off – KWLB and the Babes on Bikes cycling club will pick up litter along FM 1093 and Bowser Road from 9 am to 12 pm. Registration is required to participate and safety vest, bags, “pickers,” water and snacks will be provided. All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a registered participating adult. To volunteer, email keepwestonlakesbeautiful@gmail.com.
April 20, 2018 – Don’t Mess with Texas Art Contest deadline – Enter the Don’t mess with Texas® K-12 Art Contest and your artwork could be featured in the 2019 Don’t mess with Texas Calendar! For more information go to http://www.dontmesswithtexas.org/education/art-contest/
April 21, 2018 – Boots & Bling Gala FUNdraiser – Dinner & Dancing, Live & Silent Auction, 6:30 pm to 11 pm in the Weston Lakes Ballroom. Tickets $75 per person and includes 2 drink tickets. Limited capacity. Reservations required.
May 5, 2018 – KWLB Shred event – 10 am to 12 pm in Riverwood Park.
June 2, 2018 – WaterWise Cleanup event – “Kid Fish” at Oxbow Island. 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Fishing poles and bait provided by Texas Game Wardens. T-shirts to all kids, provided by KWLB. Lunch and beverages provided by West Side Stories magazine.
June 11-14, 2018 – Keep Texas Beautiful Conference in Georgetown. KWLB representatives will be there!

August 17, 2018 – FREE Country Music House Concert with The Young Fables! KWLB will be helping out with our new, fabulous recycle trash cans. Doors open at 6:30 pm, Concert starts at 7:00 pm.
